Founded in Zurich in 1990, Rhéa Gallery flourished under the direction of Michael G. Petropoulos. For more than twenty-five years, the gallery exhibited at TEFAF Maastricht and participated in leading international art fairs, establishing a reputation for integrity and connoisseurship in the field of Mediterranean ancient art. Over thirty catalogues have been published, and more than 2,000 works of art have found their way into distinguished private collections, academic institutions and some of the world's foremost museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Since 2025, Carl Petropoulos has continued the family’s longstanding engagement with the art market through private sales and scholarly work in the field of Classical Studies. The tradition is further carried forward through the presentation of carefully selected works of Classical and Hellenistic fine art, collaborative projects, and initiatives that celebrate the artistic and cultural legacy of antiquity and its enduring influence across time and into the present. “It is passion and knowledge that speak, while the artworks are left to tell their own stories” - M.G.P.
